2025 is here! It's the start of a new year and we're looking out for the 2025 wedding trends.

Another year around the sun is upon us. Many couples are celebrating their engagements. Some are simply ready to say a final farewell to that weird pandemic past-time and finally have that wedding they've been planning forever. Are you keen to hear what I think will be the 2025 wedding trends?
Enter the wedding gap.
Have you heard of it? Thanks to the aforementioned pandemic, people weren't meeting up. People weren't dating or getting to know each other. Now we find ourselves battling a shortage of engagement and weddings due to the knock on effects of Covid- the gift that keeps on f*****g giving!
What 2025 wedding trends will we see?
Let's take a look at some things that I think will be in for 2025 weddings:
Being Bold
... in all senses of the word.
Expect to see bold colours from florals to decor and wedding party outfits. I even expect to see bold colourful wedding dresses and suits this year!
Multi-Day Weddings
One thing I think we can agree on is that there is a yearning to be able to spend more time away from work and being able to surround ourselves with friends and family. This is why I think that having a multi-day wedding celebration is a great idea. Your guests can arrive on the Friday and have that catch up with everyone. The Saturday could be the official 'I do' day with the party. The Sunday could be a lovely meal together before everyone heads home. Or you could even take one or two of those days to do something private and intimate with just the two of you. The possibilities are endless!
Less Structure
Following on from the points above, you could always shove the traditions, un-write the wedding day timeline and do whatever the heck you want on the day. A perk of having one of your friends or family members being your officiant is that you're really not tied to a specific time to get hitched. Just take the day as it comes. (This idea is probably not for the feint-hearted!!
Fully Documentary Wedding Photography
Maybe this is because it is a personal favourite of mine, but I do think more couples are wanting to feel less pressured into being 'models' for the entire day and instead, be able to focus on spending time with their guests- or even just each other. There's something exciting about receiving your wedding photos back and seeing moments that you had forgotten about and being able to relive them. I'm hoping this is a firm one for 2025 wedding trends.
Alternative Wedding Venues
With the cost of living the way it is, couples are seeking out different options to hold their weddings. Some of my most favourite weddings have actually been in restaurants! Other amazing spaces you could get hitched at are art galleries, libraries, greenhouses. The possibilities are endless!
Sustainability
Unless you've been living under a rock, you'll know that the world is in desperate need of some TLC.
As a 2024 couple you could help the environment by considering more eco-friendly things such as gifting sustainable wedding favours. Locally, handmade soaps or maybe a jar of local honey. I've also seen table place cards that can be planted to grow grass or wild flowers!
Digital Guestbook
I actually recently found my own wedding guestbook. It's a small white notepad filled with kind words (and some drunk words!) which is a nice to have item. But I wish I could actually see and hear these guests saying those words.
Having an audio or video (or both) guestbook would be a fantastic keepsake of the day. With the accessibility of online videos nowadays, you could always look back at a digital guestbook and see and hear those loved ones!
Have the day YOU want
Ultimately, your wedding day is yours as a couple. I can't wait to see what other 2025 weddings trends we'll find making appearances this year.
Reach out if you'd like me to document your wedding day with that no-pressure feeling!
