Beautiful Summer Church Wedding in Wainwright, Alberta

My first summer church wedding in Wainwright Alberta was not one to disappoint!

When we were still living in Ontario during the pandemic, my husband had just received his posting message to Wainwright in 2021. As a self employed business person, I immediately started to shift my marketing to couples getting married in Alberta. But as I'd never lived in such a small town, I decided to market to Edmonton engaged couples instead. I just thought that there would be more demand for a wedding photographer in Edmonton.

Re-centering

I had a busy 2021 summer photographing weddings all over Western Alberta. Edmonton, Calgary, Banff, Canmore and Red Deer were places I'd shoot frequently. I realized that I was doing a LOT of traveling. The more I got to know this wonderful little town of Wainwright that I had grown to love, I realized that not only are there couples that live in Wainwright who are looking for a wedding photographer, but also that there are some beautiful venues too!

Introducing - Carley & Logan

Carley & Logan reached out a few months prior to their wedding, and we were thrilled that we had found each other. We both had the same vision for their wedding day and helped each other to make it as seamless as possible.

The girls got their hair and make up done in the morning at Glow Hair & Body in the next town along- Irma. Logan and his groomsmen were at home getting ready - and it was interesting because the guys seemed more nervous than the girls!

The girls then headed to South Africa House Guest Lodge where there were family also staying and getting ready together. It was my first time visiting South Africa House and it did not disappoint! Every angle you looked at there was something quirky and unique staring your way.

The bridesmaids and the stunning bride were ready and we then all headed to the venue for the ceremony. They chose to marry at Grace United Church in Wainwright, with its' beautiful wooden interior and stained glass windows. It was a simple ceremony, with heartfelt letters read by the couple, and was attended by their closest family and friends.

Burnout Central!

After the ceremony the newly married couple drove off from the church in Logans dads' white vintage Ford truck, complete with a burnout in the street!

We took some family and wedding party photos back at South Africa House, the reception then began at the Communiplex, complete with a tasty buffet meal (the beef brisket was delish!) and music from Beth at Denim & Diamonds.

There was an open mic where various of family and friends of the couple came up in turn to share what they meant to them. It's clear that both Carley & Logan are so loved by everyone.

So, the conclusion is - there are love stories everywhere. Even in my new small town!

I can't wait for my next beautiful summer church wedding in Wainwright Alberta.
